Alba Optics is a new Italian sunglasses manufacturer who, from its initial launch design, seems to be very much 'on trend' with 1980s vintage inspired designs. The Delta is reminiscent of Oakley’s legendary Razor Blade (which the brand brought back as a limited edition as part of their heritage line a couple of seasons back). Unlike those original designs however Alba has used TR90 material (a blend of nylon and carbon) that you’ll find in premium brand frames such as Rudy Project and Tifosi. With eight different frame colours available (I couldn’t resist the oh-so 80s lime to lemon fade, sorry!) and 11 different lenses – I selected the vibrant RV Pace – there's quite a bit of customisation available. At 58mm at its deepest the lens is big compared to many, the 29.8g weight is pretty feathery for such a large sized glass, they offer UV400 protection rating and meet EU, US, and Australian safety and protection standards. Pricing is set to be around £160 with extra lenses available separately (price TBC).
